What is Booth?
A large part of Fringe is its booth program. Fringe is one of many organizations that builds large carnival structures that are installed on the "midway" of the Morewood parking-lot in April. As an organization founded by architects, Fringe has been a historically successful team while continuously stretching the limits of Booth. The midway features booths created by organizations with a large variety of resources, and Fringe prides itself in creating spectacular booths without spending extravagantly. Pictured below is Fringe's 2003 booth with the theme "the First Ascent of Mt. Everest," which fit into the overall carnival theme of "Great Moments in History." Everest brought home two awards for Fringe Booth; it won 2nd place in our independent organization category, and also won the environmental award.
Most booth work ramps up in the spring after the theme is announced, but ideas are formulating all year round. If you're interested, contact Fringe to get involved!
